I am interested in building a logbook, and while I expect it to read. They're excellent at what they do and I have no interest in trying to build a competitor. There are several tools out there that are full-featured flight analysis tools (FlyTec's Flåhart and Naviter's SeeYou being two prominent examples). A logbook, not a flight analysis tool.(SeeYou switching to a subscription model being a good recent example.) By being open source, I hope to provide confidence that even if I take the program in a direction you don't agree with, someone else could freely take the program in another direction. One thing I don't like about the closed-platform flight logs is that you are at the mercy of where the developers decide to go with their pricing model, featureset, etc. Here are my own personal top-level goals for the project I've tried out all of the programs out there that I can find, and I haven't found one that meets my desires, so I figured it would be fun and helpful to the community to develop my own. As a software developer and a fledgling pilot, I find myself interested in creating a digital logbook.
